Examine domestic interiors you are familiar with, looking at the whole but also paying particular attention to the features, details and materials within them. You may wish to scrutinize aspects of the interior that you have previously ignored such as windows, doors, ceiling, floors, mirrors, both natural and electric light sources, surface information and materials used;
How do these individual aspects of an interior affect the look, mood and atmosphere of the interior?
Is the room different with the door closed than it is when it is open?
How does the room look at different time of the day and night, and how does light affect the information contained within it?
Does the room feel different when any of the details within the interior are altered? (Do mirrors for example, by virtue of their position reveal or distort details that are not visible from a fixed viewpoint?).
How can you represent and accentuate the differences you have discovered in the interior, what materials or languages best describe the interior you have selected?
What surprising discoveries have you noticed about this familiar interior? How have they changed your understanding of your personal environment?
How does fashion affect the interior?
