How does the activity of watching a film differ from the experience of viewing a still image such as a painting, photograph or print?
What compositional decisions, devices and choices have been made in this still image? Does it differ from your overall memory or understanding of the film?
Alternatively, you could take an individual isolated still image you are unfamiliar with and by analysing the information it presents to you try to develop a storyline, plot or narrative based on its possibilities. You could develop these in visuals or in written form, or a combination of these, in any possible direction being as imaginative as you would like.
