Heavy natural linen or cotton was favoured for soft furnishing and upholstery. (No. 1) Basket was an especially popular design frequently used for curtaining, and although it was only the third block that Larcher had ever cut, it continued to be printed throughout the 1930s. (No. 2) Blocks such as Hazlitt and Diagonal printed on unbleached linen made suitable prints either for loose chair covers, or for tight upholstery. (No. 3, 4, 5, 6)
