Sharpness functions on two levels. The practical: the nib must be clean and truly formed so that both of its corners can make equal and true contact with the writing surface. The conceptual: the calligrapher's mind should have a clear idea (a vizualisation) of the shapes she intends to make. See gallery for examples of 'Sharpness'.
