This simple, thrown stoneware bowl is untypical of Staite Murray's work. The exterior decoration, which features a Greek key type of pattern, is more symmetrical than normal and is worked in a brushed wax resist. A soft grey underglaze shows through a tenmoku (brown/black) overglaze.
