No 22: Dish, 1953 (P.75.55)
This modest dish is not instantly recognisable as the work of Bernard Leach. It comes from a short period after the Second World War when he was working at Dartington, hence the mark: 'D'. The dish is thrown in buff earthenware, then decorated by passing red slip through a stencil in a mesh-like pattern of triangles.
