No 17: Oval dish, 1976 (P.77.3)
This simple oval dish of tinglazed red earthenware is decorated with heart shapes and, untypically, groups of straight brushstrokes designed to fill the contours of the form. The most interesting aspect of the dish is the unusual gold colour of the motifs which is the result of silver, not gold, metallic particles in the lustre.
