| Description | This work was painted by an eighteenth century follower of the Dutch Italianate artist Nicholas Berchem (1620-1683). It is unclear whether Berchem ever actually visited Italy, but he left a large body of work, mainly landscapes suffused by the rich, golden light typical of Dutch Italianate painting. | |
