| Description | Antoine Vollon was a painter and engraver who settled in Paris in 1863 after early training at the Ecole des Beaux Arts, Lyon. He became a friend of Carpeaux who was better known as a sculptor. This informal and freely painted portrait was completed in Dieppe. | |
