Portrait of Teresa Carracolo, first wife of Gaetano II Sforza Cesarini, Duke of Segni (1728-1776). The pendant portrait of the Duke is in the National Gallery of Victoria, Australia. Some experts consider this to be a portrait of the Duke's second wife and accordingly date it 1768. |

The oil gilded number '13' located in the lower right corner lay on the surface of a broad area of overpaint. After cleaning, it became apparent that another '13' in yellow paint had been covered with overpaint nearer to the right edge and which lay on top of the original paint surface. The earlier '13' was removed with the overpaint. |
