| Description | In this view of the Roman Forum, the artist employed a keen sense of observation to depict the various buildings at the archaeological site. Such compositions by the quadraturisti artists, such as Giovanni Paolo Panini and one of his tutors Francesco Galli Bibiena (1659-1739), became very popular in the eighteenth century with Grand Tourists who acquired them as souvenirs of their travels. | |
