Description The gable end of a country cottage. From the left, steps lead steeply up to a rickety balcony and doorway. Below, in front of an arched stable doorway stands the hurdy gurdy player holding the lead of a small dog. The lower half of the arched doorway is closed and a woman leans on it from the interior and addresses the player. Several children are disposed about the doorway.
