| Description | Like its pendant, the Landscape with Buildings and Figures beside a Lake, this Mountain Landscape with a Waterfall is quite a conventional eighteenth-century mountainous landscape painting from the northern schools. A river with a smooth waterfall, a solid tree, a tower and a high rocky mountain in the background are the principal means of composition. | |
