| Description | Antoon Francois Heyligers worked in towns throughout the Low Countries before settling in the Hague in 1878. He exhibited widely and gained a reputation for his genre scenes, especially for interiors that recalled the polite seventeenth-century interiors of the likes of Pieter de Hooch and Jan Vermeer, often bordering on pastiche. | |
