Description Roses, narcissi and carnations - not flowers in season at the same time - make up this decorative arrangement. Van Assen worked as a painter, engraver and draughtsman. He started to work in England at the end of the eighteenth century and died in London in 1817. He is best known for his portrait and genre paintings.
