| Description | Michele, or Michelangelo, Pace, also known as Il Campidoglio, was best known for his still lives. In this painting, a vase of flowers is painted in a natural setting, next to a stream of water, where there is half a watermelon. Although there are several similarities between this and Campidoglio's known works, the less convincing treatment of colours and brushwork lead to an unconvinced attribution to Campidoglio. | |
