| Description | A soft painterly touch and thinly applied paint characterise this simple scene of women and a child doing the wshing by a large stone fountain. Franz de Paula Ferg was known for his genre and landscapes with lively figures. His scenes are mainly based on Dutch paintings of the seventeenth century and were often used as models for the production of engravings. | |
