| Description | This painting is believed to be a studio replica of the painting by Albani engraved by Benoit Audran (1661-1721), when it was in the collection of John, Count of Milford. Though once in the Orleans Collection, it is now lost. Another verson is now in Lyons, and similar compositions can be found in the Hermitage, and in Bologna. Albani was an important Bolognese painter, but spent much of his career in Rome, working for Annibale Caracci. | |
