This painting is one of a large group of good nineteenth-century paintings given to the Shipley Art Gallery by Henry Richardson, in memory of his wife, Adeline Pomeroy Richardson. Henry Richardson was born in Gateshead and worked for the ironfounders, Messrs. Hawks Crawshay before moving to Sheffield and London. | |
