Description Catherine of Braganza (1638-1705) was the daughter of the Duke of Braganza and Queen consort of Charles II. She remained in England until 1693, seven years after the King's death, then returned to Portugal where she died in 1705. This portrait is after a painting by Dirk Stoop painted in 1660 or 1661, a year or two before her marriage to Charles II.
