Description A finely executed view of the interior of a Flemish gothic church in the evening. The scene is depicted from a high viewpoint, looking through the gothic arches of the nave and side aisles towards the east end of the church. A few figures mill around. Side altarpieces are adorned with heavy baroque frames, candles are lit before them. Large tomb-slabs are set into the tiled floor. The work forms a pair with Interior of a Church, Morning (1916.4).
