Material	Pencil, pen and ink on wove paper (probably Whatman hand made).
Notes	Signed 'Debut' - pseudonym of W.R. Lethaby. Published The Building News, vol. 32 (1878-79). Made for The Building News Designing Club Competition. Lethaby entered 19 drawings in all, 17 of which were published in The Building News, all of which are present in the Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design Special Collection. Lethaby won the competition, being awarded first place in the January of 1878.
Object Notes	Full - "Foliated Hinges for a Church in wrought iron"; architectural design showing 1) upper hinge 2) lower hinge 3) an elevation of the door detailing the position of the hinges and a scale in feet and inches. Signed with the Debut pseudonym. There is evidence of a different drawing, erased, on the right hand side of the recto.
