| Description |
A pair of Mary Quant 'Fly -By Tights' in their original packaging. With the introduction of the mini skirt in the 1960s came the demand for more streamlined hosiery. The need for an alternative to the suspender and sometimes unsightly stocking top popularised the fashion for tights or pantyhose. This pair of black, seamfree, Mary Quant tights would have been offered for sale at the time when the mini skirt, which the designer is credited with introducing in the 1960s, was at its most popular. The packet design is a striking black and white Mary Quant daisy logo pattern. |
