Description This picture recalls the style of the Dutch painter Jan Wyck who worked in England from 1672. Wyck's battle-pieces and hunting scenes were reproduced in etchings, which may have provided the source for this composition. A party of huntsmen, some on foot and some on horseback, is depicted between two clusters of trees. Wyck's works influenced English painters, such as John Wootton.
