| Description |
A finely executed view of the interior of a Flemish gothic church in the morning. The scene is depicted from a high viewpoint, looking towards the east end. A few figures mill around in the nave. A priest conducts mass before a small congregation at the side altar to the far left of the composition. The organ loft is seen at the top left of the composition. Large tomb-slabs are set into the tiled floor. The work forms a pair with Interior of a Church, Evening (1916.3). |
