This drawing was made by Lethaby around five years after his appointment as chief clerk in the offices of Norman Shaw R.A. Shaw was one of two architects involved in the design of Dawpool House in Cheshire, the other being a J.F.Doyle. See rest of R.79.1-4. Before employing him as his chief clerk, Shaw had expressed great admiration for Lethaby's drawings. |

Reproduction of two drawings by Lethaby (of a building designed by Shaw and Doyle) published in The Architect, issue dated 25th October 1884. The top drawing shows a South Elevation of the building, the bottom is a cross section of the same view (which details the fireplaces in the Library, Picture Gallery and Drawing Room. Probably reduced in size from the original. |
