Inscription Several notes in Lethaby´s hand, some illegible and some which seem addressed to the makers and/or a second party involved in the design.Note to maker - "Note Messrs Farmer and Brindley . . . Have been making a table for me with similar feet + would supply you with 8 please inquire about these at once."

Notes See Inscriptions - A note to the maker. The feet mentioned in this note were made for a table designed by Lethaby for Avon Tyrell (see F.69.11 and .12), made to order by Farmer and Brindley. The Avon Tyrell table had turned legs and feet, the design very similar to this one (and using the same brass feet). This design may have been for Avon Tyrell, for obvious reasons (ie. the design is the same as other Avon Tyrell furnishings) or for Stanmore Hall, where Lethaby designed all the furnishings in wood. (Hence the two inferred dates).
Object Notes Design for banisters showing side/front (?) elevation and details including a plan of the leg section with "rounded edges" and a "sketch plan of top railings".
