Content And Subject Information This little panel was worked by Julia Sorrell, a student at Goldsmiths College, textile course. Her tutor was Barbara Dawson, one of Constance Howard's first staff members. Barbara had trained at the Royal School of Needlework before taking an NDD in embroidery with Constance. She was well respected for metal thread embroidery and wrote a book on the subject. Barbara left Goldsmiths in 1976 or 1977 after Audrey Walker took over as head of department.
