| Description |
Ivory panel of a game box engraved with a scene showing a deceased man, Ahmose, seated on a high-backed lion-legged chair. He has a beard and wears a tripartite wig and a long overskirt worn over a short kilt. He holds a folded napkin in his left hand which is held to his chest as a symbol of authority; his right hand is held palm down above his thigh. In front of him is an offering table laden with food and under the table are two cones, one entwined with a lotus flower and the other with a lotus bud. Between Ahmose and the table are two columns of hieroglyphs facing to the right.
Traces of black paint can be seen where it was used to emphasise the engraved lines. |
